Marshall Finishes Ninth at Miami Invite

OXFORD, Ohio - Juniors Jenny Johnsson and Ally Melinsky each reached the finals of their events and diver Haley Homquist finished fourth in the one-meter dive as the Marshall swimming and diving team finished ninth at the Miami Invitational.
Johnsson qualified finals of the 200 back in 2:08.91. The Sweeden native then bettered her timewith a 2:08.76 in the finals. Johnsson also recorded a 5:12.10 to reach the finals of the 500-yard freestyle.
Melinsky reached the finals of the 200-yard breast with a time 2:26.11 in the prelims. She then swam a 2:25.51 in the finals.
In the diving competition, Holmquist reached the finals of the one-meter event and scored the best finish of any Herd competitor. The Florida native finished fourth overall, scoring a 245.20 in the finals. Senior Rachel Hannum came in 10th with a score of 197.40.
