Multiple Winners Headline Caroll Classic

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio - Multiple winners highlighted the Marshall swimming and diving team's fourth-place finish at the Inaugural Carroll Classic on Sunday.
Senior Camilla Overup led the way on day two with a win in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:03.92. Fellow Herd swimmer Kim Melinsky also took third in that event with a final time of 1:05.33.
Marshall got great production from its freshmen as newcomer Jessica Sweeney won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:21.08
Lauren Fairbanks took first-place in the 100-yard freestyle after a 56.65. Meghan Fillinger took second in 57.39.
Marshall's team of Fillinger, Meghan Robinson, Karli Alsop and Fairbanks won the 400-yard freestyle relay, posting a 3:49.82 to win by a total of four seconds.
Fairbanks did well on her own with a second place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.70. Overup was just behind with a time of 1:02.11 and a third-place finish.
Alsop was third in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:53.53. Fillinger placed third in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:05.80. Robinson finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking in at 26.28
On day one, Kim Melinsky was the Herd's top finisher in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:20.19. Alsop took third in 500-yard free and Overup was third in the 200-yard back with a time of 2:17.53.
