Marshall Finishes Ninth At Conference USA Tournament

EL PASO, Texas - The Thundering Herd women's golf team wrapped up the 2008 Conference USA Tournament in ninth place at the Butterfield Trail Golf Club in El Paso, Texas.
Marshall shot a 339 in Wednesday's closing round to finish with a 993. Tulsa, who made a run on Tuesday to take the lead, won the tournament on Wednesday, shooting a 303 to finish with a total of 904, 18 strokes ahead of East Carolina.
Larie Lynch was the highest finisher for Marshall, tying for 32nd. Lynch shot an 83 on Wednesday to finish with a 246 for the tournament. Molly Ginger finished the championship with a 250, finishing in 38th place.
Andrea Grier shot a 254 en route to a 41st place finish while Whitney Wolejko and Kristina Garrett were 42nd with a 257.
Tulsa finished the tournament with three of the top four golfers. Woeri Shin was the top individual golfer, finishing with a 4-over 220, six strokes ahead of Alexa Porter of Memphis.
Porter tied Leisl Hasbrouck of Tulsa with a 226 while Michaela Cavener's 227 tied her for fourth place to round out the Tulsa contingent.
