PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Duquesne Duke used two goals in each half to take down the Marshall Thundering Herd 4-1 Friday at Rooney Field in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Marshall (0-4) fell behind early on in the 11th minute when Alex Trujillo got a header past senior Greg Walter (Slippery Rock, Pa.).

The Dukes (2-0-3) would take a 2-0 lead into the half off of a goal from Ben Horner.

"We got off to a slow start against a good team," head coach Bob Gray said. "They (Duquesne) finished their opportunities. We got back into it in the second half, but didn't come up with enough."

In the 53rd minutes, Duquesne extended its lead to 3-0. Marshall found itself on the board when junior Michael Bolt (Hendersonville, Tenn.) found the back of the net with an assist to Kendall Sutton (Wheaton, Md.).

After 67 minutes of play, Walter was replaced in the net by junior transfer Robert Smith (Niagara Falls, Ontario). Smith allowed one goal and had three saves in his Marshall debut.

"We got to look into reorganizing and restructuring things to shake it up to get our first win."

Marshall will wrap-up play in Pittsburgh with a match against Richmond Saturday at 5 p.m.
