Women's Golf To Begin Spring Season

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - The Thundering Herd women's golf team is set to begin its spring season this weekend with a trip to the Kiawah Island Classic.
The event is the largest collegiate event ever held in the country with a total of 46 teams set to participate. Among the schools included are: Miami, Florida, Nebraska, Kentucky, Oregon and Oregon State. Two other Conference USA foes will be in the tournament; SMU and UCF.
Marshall's last action came on November 4 when the team placed 12th in the UAB Fall Beach Blast. The best finish for the team came in October's Lady Herd Fall Classic where it finished in eighth place.
Larie Lynch was the top performer in the fall season, registering the lowest score in three out of Marshall's four tournaments. Her best effort was a 14th place finish at the UAB Fall Beach Blast where she shots a two-round total of 152.
The tournament is set to take place from Sunday through Tuesday with play getting underway at 9 a.m. on Sunday and Monday and a shotgun start on Tuesday at 8:45.
