Women's Golf Finishes Day One Of Kiawah Island Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Larie Lynch shot a ten-over 82 as the Thundering Herd women's golf team finished day one of the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate in 38th place.
Lynch led the Herd with an 82, tied for 119th overall.
Mary Oliver was a stroke behind Lynch, shooting an 83. Molly Ginger and Maria Battaglia each shot an 87 on the day while Rachel Halloran rounded out the Herd golfers with an 88.
As a team, the Herd was +51 in the opening day, five shots behind a three-way tie for 35th, which included Cincinnati, USC Upstate and Missouri State.
The University of Miami and East Tennessee State share the lead after the opening round, each shooting a 12-over 300 match. The Hurricanes were led by Begona Sarabia, whose even round put her in a second place tie.
Stephanie Connelly of UCF leads all golfers, shooting a 2-under 70 to open the tournament.
The action resumes on Monday as play begins at 9:30 a.m. before wrapping up on Tuesday.
