Pinehurst Challenge Cancelled Due To Inclement Weather

Pinehurst, N.C. - The Pinehurst Challenge, originally slated for March 2-3 at Pinehurst #6, in Pinehurst, N.C., has been cancelled due to inclement weather.

Marshall was one of 20 teams scheduled to participate in the tournament.

The decision to cancel the 36-hole event was made after snow and ice blanketed the area yesterday evening. It was determined that the course would not be playable Monday with temperatures hovering all day around freezing and no chance for the snow and ice to melt.

Officials decided that the course would not be ready Tuesday as well due to temperatures dropping to the teens later on this evening and not reaching above freezing until that afternoon.

Marshall will be back in action on March 21 and 22, traveling to Williamsburg, Va. for the First Market Bank Intercollegiate.
