IRVING, Texas- Marshall University women's soccer's Molly Snead (Cincinnati, Ohio) earned Conference USA's Offensive Player of the Week honors announced by league officials on Monday.
Snead netted the only goal of the game in the victory over Winthrop on Friday, when she dribbled past two defenders and slotted a shot past the Eagles goalkeeper. Snead continuously blew past the Winthrop defenders and placed all five of her shots on goal.
On Sunday, Snead headed in the game winning goal, her second of the weekend, in the beginning minutes of the second half to beat Radford, 2-0. Snead is now tied on Marshall's all-time list in game winning goals with five.
The Herd is off to a 5-0 start, the best in school history.
On the season, Snead has a team leading 14 shots, placing eight on goal and is joined by Megan Tabler (Ashland, Ky.) with a team leading two goals a piece.
This is Snead's first C-USA Player of the Week honor and is the second week in a row that a Marshall women's soccer player has earned the weekly award.
