Tennis ready for a Three Match Weekend

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University women’s tennis team has three matches this weekend with a double header on Friday at Eastern Kentucky and a home match against Eastern Michigan on Saturday.
The Herd (1-0) headlines the three-team match with EKU (0-2) and Southern Illinois (0-0) Friday as the lone nationally-ranked team in the field. MU is ranked No. 66. The match in Richmond, Ky., is slated for 10 a.m.
It’s a quick turn around as Marshall will be back on the court Saturday afternoon when they host the visiting Eastern Michigan Eagles at the Huntington Tennis Club. The Herd looks to remain undefeated at home as MU downed Morehead State 7-0 in its first home match of the year.
Marshall is a combined 17-6 all-time against the competition they will face this weekend. MU holds a 5-0 advantage in the series with Eastern Kentucky, they are 12-6 against Eastern Michigan, and it’s the first ever meeting between the Herd and the Salukies of Southern Illinois.
The home contest with Eastern Michigan is set to begin at noon on Saturday at the Huntington Tennis Club.
