Sarah Kay Named Conference USA Swimmer of the Week

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Sarah Kay of the Marshall University swimming and diving program was named the Conference USA Swimmer of the Week as announced by league officials.

The award is Kay's first accolade of her collegiate career and the Thundering Herd's first of the season. Kay earned the weekly honor after posting career-bests in three events last weekend against West Virginia.

The freshman bettered the school pool record in the 200 Butterfly with a second-place finish of 2:03.77, the fastest time in conference this year and the second-best time in Marshall history. Kay also finished second in the 100 Butterfly (58.77), the seventh-best time in MU record book and third fastest in C-USA this season. In the 200 IM, she tallied another second-place finish with a time of 2:13.60.
