Swimming and Diving Falls to Gardner-Webb, 123-66

Lexington, Va. - Despite wins from Sarah Kay and Jaimie Holmquist, the Marshall University swimming and diving team was outlasted by Gardner-Webb, 123-66, on Friday night. The Thundering Herd returns to the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium for a dual meet against Youngstown State at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Freshman Sarah Kay posted a pair of first-place finishes in the 200 Butterfly, in a pool record time of 2:07.72, and the 500 Freestyle with a 5:19.48 finish.
Jaimie Holmquist was tops in the 200 Breaststroke, with a time of 2:29.45. Kay and Holmquist teamed up with Vera Niemeyer and Susan Velte to get the Herd a win in the 400 Freestyle, finishing in 3:51.89.
UP NEXT FOR THE HERD: Marshall will host Youngstown State at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6.
