HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - On Sunday, the Marshall University women's basketball team will wrap up its three-game homestand, playing host to SMU at Noon at the Cam Henderson Center.

CBS College Sports will have live coverage of the game while CSS will have a tape-delayed broadcast.

The game will mark the Thundering Herd's PinkZone game. Tickets are just $1 and several promotions will take place. The first 2,000 fans will receive rally towels and bracelets while 50 students will receive a Marshall Maniacs flash drive bracelet.

PinkZone t-shirts will be sold for $10 and are available online at www.HerdZone.com. The team will wear special pink shooting jerseys prior to the game, which will be auctioned off on HerdZone. All proceeds will benefit breast cancer research.

In last Saturday's game against UTEP, Marshall halted a three-game skid by topping the Miners, 65-56, to improve to 14-11 and 6-6 in C-USA play. The game marked the return of junior forward Tynikki Crook, who missed seven games due to a hand injury. Crook did not disappoint, leading MU with 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting.

Marshall struggled to a 2-5 mark in her absence while scoring an average of 53.4 PPG. That all changed against the Miners as MU shot 50.9% en route to the victory.

Freshman Erica Woods also had a solid game for Marshall. Woods has started each of the last two games, the first starts of her MU career, and has responded, averaging 13.5 PPG and 5.5 rebounds. She scored a career-high 16 points in her first start against Tulane and followed that up with 11 against the Miners.

Chantelle Handy has also picked up the slack in Crook's absence. Handy scored 12 points against UTEP, marking her seventh double-digit effort in the last nine games.

The Herd will look to keep the momentum going against SMU, who is 16-9 overall and 6-6 in league play. The Mustangs fell by a 57-54 margin to Tulsa on Thursday evening, dropping their conference road mark to 2-5. They are a perfect 4-0 at home in C-USA games.

Brittany Gilliam leads SMU, averaging 14.8 PPG. She also tops the team in assists with 126, a total that is second in the league. Christine Elliott is second in scoring with 11.6 PPG and leads the Mustangs with 7.9 RPG.

Tip is set for Noon at the Cam Henderson Center. Next weekend, MU will take to the road for the final time in the regular season, facing Memphis on Thursday before traveling to UAB next Saturday. On Wednesday, March 3, the Herd will wrap up the regular season at home, facing East Carolina.
