HUNTINGTON, W.Va .- The Marshall University women's golf team concludes its spring season at the Conference USA Championship Tournament in Hattiesburg, Miss., on Sunday, April 18, through Monday, April 20. Southern Miss will host the event at Canebrake Country Club, with an 8 a.m. start each morning.
MU will join 9 C-USA institutions; Southern Miss, UAB, UCF, Tulsa, Tulane, ECU, SMU, UTEP and Memphis.
The Lady Herd will be represented by Andrea Grier (Hagerstown, Md.), Larie Lynch (Huntington, W.Va.), Samantha DiDomenico (Follansbee, W.Va.), Rachel Halloran (Leawood, Kan.) and Maria Battaglia (Uniontown, Pa.).
Lynch and Grier return to Canebrake CC for the first time since the Lady Eagle Invitational in the spring of 2008. The Herd entered the final day of play trailing by one-stroke but shot a 319 on day-two to finish in third place. Lynch shot an 158 through two rounds to finish tied for 13th place, while Grier compiled an 164.
"We're excited to play at Canebrake because they have played this course before," head coach Meredith Knight Rowsey said. "The girls have done well there before and should be comfortable."
Seniors Grier and Lynch will make their final appearances as members of the Herd.
The last time out MU competed at the EKU Lady Colonel Classic on April 10th and 11th, where the Thundering Herd finished in 11th place. Grier shot a team-low 237 through two rounds of play, while Halloran finished just three-strokes behind with a 240.
