Women's Golf Heads to the EKU Lady Colonel Classic

HUNTINGTON, W.Va .- The Marshall University women's golf team journeys to Richmond, Ky. to participate in the EKU Lady Colonel Classic, on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11 at the Arlington Golf Club.

The two-day tournament includes three rounds of play, with 36 holes taking place on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday. Each day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.

The Thundering Herd sends Andrea Grier (Hagerstown, Md.), Larie Lynch (Huntington, W.Va.), Rachel Halloran (Leawood, Kan.), Maria Battaglia (Uniontown, Pa.) and Molly Ginger (Centerville, Ohio) into action.

Eastern Kentucky University welcomes 17 other teams to Richmond; Akron, Arkansas State, Austin Peay, Bowling Green State, Evansville, Ferris State, Marshall, Memphis, Morehead State, Murray State, Northern Kentucky, Ohio, Samford, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Toledo, University of the Cumberlands and Western Kentucky.

MU is coming off a fourth place finish at the Tina Barrett Longwood Invite. Grier and Halloran each tied for 17th place. Halloran shot a season-low 75 in the first round of play, while Grier shot her best round of the tournament on the final day with a 76. Battaglia finished just three-strokes behind Grier and Halloran, shooting a 241, while competing as an individual.
