Women's Soccer Concludes the Spring Campaign

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- The Marshall University women's soccer team concluded a successful spring campaign, producing positive results against a very competitive schedule.

The Herd used the spring to build depth to its bench and allowed players to put themselves in a position to be competitive in the fall.

Marshall is excited to continue with the momentum built during the spring season, as the competition pushed the women's program to new heights.

The Thundering Herd is ready to repair the damage of a devastating loss to East Carolina in the final game of the regular season. The Herd will look to build-off its non-conference success and make its first-ever appearance in the Conference USA tournament.

MU opens its season on August 22nd at Cleveland State University, with the Vikings looking to avenge a 2-0 loss to the Herd last season. The Thundering Herd continues on with back-to-back tournaments. Marshall will do battle with Winthrop and Liberty on August 27th and August 29th, in the Winthrop Tournament. Followed by match-ups against Radford and Appalachian State in the Pullman Plaza Invitational, hosted by MU at Sam Hood Field on September 3rd and 5th.

Marshall opens a four-game road trip, wrapping up non-conference play with contests at Ohio University and at Kentucky, and beginning Conference USA action against Southern Miss and UCF.

October 1st marks the Herds second home series of the season as Tulsa and SMU visit Huntington. The Thundering Herd look to even the series with SMU, following its first-ever win against the Mustangs this season.

MU hits the road to take-on UAB, Memphis, Rice and Houston before concluding the season in the comfort of Sam Hood Field. The three-game home-stand is culminated with a match-up against East Carolina on senior night on October 28th.

The C-USA tournament is set for November 3rd through the 7th. The site and times have yet to be announced.
