Swimming and Diving Inks Lauren Tarka

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University swimming and diving program is proud to release the addition of Lauren Tarka on Monday afternoon, as announced by the MU head coach Russell Hunt.

Tarka joins the Thundering Herd as a walk-on transfer from San Francisco State - she will enter the 2010-11 campaign as a junior.

"Lauren is a hard worker, a trait which will serve her well as she mixes into the fold," said head coach Russell Hunt.

Swam at the club level for the Fog City Hammerheads (2008), Terrapins Swimming (03-04), Tiger Aquatics (01-03) and Spring Swim Team (1996-01). Attended Lincoln High School (03-04), Central York HS (04-06) and Westmoor HS (06-07). Qualified for San Jaoquin County Sections in 2003 and the Central Coast Sections in 2006 and was also named the Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award in 2007.

Tarka's younger sister Grace swims at Conference USA foe Tulane University.
