The Thundering Herd defeated VMI 2-1 last Saturday, August 14 in its only preseason match. Second half goals from Casey Walsh (Chalfont, Pa.) and Robin Waskowski (Strongsville, Ohio) gave the Thundering Herd the come from behind victory.
"We are all very excited for the season to start. Cleveland State was a very competitive team last year and it will be a great measuring stick to see where we have both come in the off-season," MU head coach Kevin Long said.
"I'm eager about Sunday," Long continued. "We're going to have a lot of young players on the field and hopefully get the season started on the right foot."
Marshall is in command of the all-time series, winning the two previous meetings between the schools. A 2-0 opening day victory last season jump started a seven game win streak for the Herd.
