COACH RAFA SIMOES
- Head Coach Rafa Simoes is in his third season leading the MU Women's Soccer program. The former associate with the Herd men's team is a 2018 graduate of the University of Charleston in West Virginia, where he played for then-head coach Chris Grassie.
- Simoes and the Herd had a resurgent 2025 season. In his second year as skipper for MU, Simoes led the team to win its most games in a decade with four All-Conference selections, also the program's most since 2015.
PRE-MATCH NOTES
- Marshall will look to bounce back after suffering its first league defeat Thursday at Old Dominion. Despite the loss, MU sits just four points behind the league lead and is currently in a Top-8 position in the SBC standings.
- The Herd responded with a victory immediately following its previous two defeats this season, both in offensive outbursts. MU won 3-2 against Wright State following its High Point loss, with a 4-2 win at Bellarmine after its loss to No. 7 WVU.
- Sophomore forward Wiktoria Mikrut leads the SBC in overall shots with 49. Her five goals continue to pace a Marshall side with nine different goal scorers this season.
ABOUT THE WARHAWKS
- At 4-9-1 overall, ULM is coming off its first conference win of the season Thursday night, a 2-1 victory over Georgia State. Last season's regular season conference leader in points had previously lost four-consecutive matches all by a single goal.
- Head Coach Antony Blackburn is in his first season leading the Warhawks. He replaced last season's SBC Coach of the Year, Will Roberts, who Marshall saw Thursday night leading Old Dominion.
- The Herd seeks its first win against ULM, who leads the all-time series, 3-0-1. The Warhawks won both meetings last season, including a 1-0 victory in the SBC Quarterfinals.
