Allison Harper Ties for First at Tri-Match

MOREHEAD, Ky.- Marshall University's Allison Harper (Upper Arlington, Ohio) tied for first place on Sunday afternoon's women's golf Tri-Match against Morehead and Eastern Kentucky at Eagle Trace.
Harper shot a 71 in her first collegiate round with the Herd. Morehead's Marisa Kamelgarn beat teammate Paige Lausier and Harper on the second playoff hole with a birdie on hole 11 to earn the tournament victory.
"I'm really happy for Allison, a 71 is a great way to start her career here at Marshall," head coach Meredith Knight Rowsey said.
Morehead State won the match shooting a 292 on the afternoon. Eastern Kentucky finished with a 300, while the Thundering Herd came in third place, shooting a 317.
MU's Elin Andersson (Stockholm, Sweden) shot a career-low 76 to finish tied for ninth.
Rachel Halloran (Leawood, Kan.) shot an 81, while Molly Ginger (Centerville, Ohio) and Kaci Boyd (Ashland, Ky.) each carded 89's to round out the Marshall lineup.
Rachel Thompson (Mansfield, Ohio) saw her first round of collegiate action as she competed as an individual and shot an 80 to tie for 16th.
Michelle Sabo (Columbus, Ohio) also competed as an individual and shot an 85 on the afternoon.
The Thundering Herd begins tournament action on Sept. 11 as it takes part in the Lady Bison Fall Classic.
