HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- The Marshall University women's soccer team looks to jump back above .500 as it travels to Lexington, Ky. to battle with the Kentucky Wildcats at the UK Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
The Thundering Herd is coming off a tough 1-0 loss to Ohio University on Wednesday night. MU once again proved to be more affective in the second half, outscoring and outshooting its opponents in the second stanza 8-3 and 54-24, respectively on the season.
The Wildcats have dropped two straight, with 2-0 losses to #17 Wake Forest, and #18 Louisville. Kelsey Hunyadi leads the team with three goals on the season, while goalkeeper Kayla King has registered 28 saves on the season.
The Thundering Herd looks for its first-ever win against the Wildcats. MU competed at the University of Kentucky Tournament last season but did not take on the Wildcats on the weekend. Sarah Vinson (Amelia, Ohio) and Freya Holdaway (Llandrindod Wells, Wales) earned all-tournament honors.
