Marshall Closes Bettie Lou Evans Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Marshall women's golf closed out the three day University of Kentucky Bettie Lou Evans Fall Invitational held at The University of Kentucky Club on the Big Blue Course Sunday. The Herd finished the 54-hole tournament with 986 stokes. The hosting Wildcats put on a show in the final day, recording 303 shots, to take first place by eight strokes over the University of Central Florida Knights.

The Herd was led by Rachel Thompson who stayed consistent throughout the three rounds posting a final of 246. Korakot Simsiriwong delivered 249 strokes for MU, alongside Allison Harper who tallied a 250. Samantha DiDomenico and Kristyn Morrone rounded out the Marshall total with a 252 and 258, respectively.

Throughout the competition the average score for 18 holes was 81.61, or 270 strokes for the three day, 54-hole event. Kentucky finished in first place with 924 strokes, while Ashleigh Albrecht of the Wildcats was crowned tournament medalist with 225 swings.

MU travels to Coosaw Creek Country Club in Charleston, S.C. in two weeks to participate in the Wendy's Invitational.
