Pitts Earns Weekly Honor

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Following a week where he averaged 17.5 points, Marshall's Damier Pittswas named the College Sports Madness Conference USA Player of the Week.

A native of Charlotte, N.C., Pitts scored a season-high 25 points in Marshall's 82-63 win over Iona on Sunday. The senior guard made a career-high nine field goals on 17 attempts and was 4-for-7 from three-point range. Pitts recorded five assists and three rebounds as well to help the Herd improve to 6-2 on the season.

Earlier in the week, Pitts recorded 10 points in a six-point loss at No. 3 Syracuse. He has scored in double-figures in seven of eight games this season.

For the week, Pitts shot 46.2 percent from the field including 42.9 percent (5-7) from three-point range.
