Softball to Host Vicky Galindo for Fundraising Dinner

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - USA Olympian and current pro player Vicky Galindo will be a guest of Marshall Softball at the Diamond Club fundraising dinner set for Saturday, January 28th on the campus of Marshall University.

Interested guests have two options to attend with either the purchase of a sponsored table that seats eight or individual dinner tickets.

The event will kick off the 2012 season beginning at 6PM in the Marshall University Foundation Hall and will feature a reception, silent auction, and autograph session. Guests will hear from the keynote speaker Galindo in addition to the seven seniors from the Herd softball program.

Galindo is a member of the USA Softball Women's National Team and seven year veteran of the National Pro Fastpitch League for the Chicago Bandits (NPF). A 2005 graduate and All-American at the University of California Berkeley, Vicky helped lead the Cal Bears to three Women's College World Series appearances. She has numerous accomplishments in the softball world including a Gold medal at the Pan American Games (2007), Two-time World Cup Champion (2006 & 2007), Silver Medalist at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China and two-time NPF Champion.

In conjunction with the Diamond Club Dinner, Championship Fastpitch will host a clinic featuring Galindo the following day, Sunday, January 29th from 10am-1pm. The clinic, which is open to any and all participants, will be held at Championship Fastpitch's location in Ashland, KY. Marshall Softball staff and players will work alongside Galindo throughout the clinic.
