Swimming & Diving Releases 2011-2012 Schedule

HUNTINGTON, W.VA - Marshall University Swimming & Diving released its 2011-2012 schedule Tuesday afternoon. The Herd is slated to compete in 9 dual/tri meets, and 3 invitational events, including a trip to Morgantown for the West Virginia State Games.
The season will open at Radford on October 1st before the team heads to the West Virginia State Games on October 14-15, for an invitational that will include WVU, WV-Wesleyan, Wheeling Jesuit, Fairmont State, Davis and Elkin, and Marshall.
The following two weekends the Herd returns to the friendly confines of Fredrick A. Fitch Natatorium for their home opener vs. Liberty University on October 22nd, then Xavier on October 28th.
MU will travel to Youngstown State on November 5th, and to Indianapolis for a tri meet with The University of Indianapolis and Butler on November 17th. The Thundering Herd then heads to Ball State for the Doug Coers Invitational on November 18-19, and back home vs. Western Kentucky and Fairmont State on December 4th to finish the 2011 campaign.
After opening the 2012 campaign with a home dual vs. Akron on January 14th, the Herd will turn around and host Ohio University 3 days later on January 17th. MU closes out its dual meets in Nashville at Vanderbilt University on January 21st.
The Thundering Herd will close its season with Converse College, and Ursuline College at the Marshall Invite in Huntington on February 4th, and C-USA Championships February 15-18.
