Herd In Fourth After Day One

Lewisburg, Pa. - The Marshall University women's golf team participated in day one of the Bucknell Women's Invitational. The Thundering Herd finished in fourth place after the first day of competition with an overall score of 308. Rutgers leads the 15-team tournament after the first 18 holes with a 304 team score.
Coming off a second place finish in the EKU tournament a week ago, Korakot Simsiriwong (Thailand/Starkville Academy, MS) leads the Thundering Herd with a 75. Caitlyn Morrone (Pinehurst, N.C./ Texarkana JC) and Allison Harper (Upper Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington HS) each finished round one with exceptional scores of 76 and 78, respectively.
Rutgers Kortnie Maxoutopouli and St. Francis University's (Pa.) Ann Colligan lead the field with an even par 70. Maxoutopouli fired a back nine 32, while Colligan steadied two rounds at 35.
Marshall will look to close the four-shot gap Rutgers currently holds in day two.
