Lewisburg, Pa. - In day two of the 15 team, 54-hole Lady Bison Invitational the Marshall University women's golf team dropped two places, landing The Herd in sixth place, a mere 14 shots behind first place. Monday challenged the women to the remaining 36 holes, where MU totaled 308 shots in the first round and 304 shots in the second.

Korakot Simsiriwong (Thailand/Starkville Academy MS) took seventh overall and led The Herd for the second straight match with a three-day total of 225. Allison Harper (Upper Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington HS) and Samantha DiDomenico (Follansbee, W.Va./Brooke HS) each tallied better rounds of 18 than the day before. After a 78 Sunday, Harper mirrored an opening round 78 Monday followed by a 73. DiDomenico followed up Sunday's 80 with a 76 and 75, respectively in rounds two and three. Both Harper and DiDomenico placed in the top 20 finishers.

Caitlyn Morrone (Pinehurst, N.C./Texarkana JC) and Rachel Thompson (Mansfield, Ohio/Ashland HS) each contributed to Marshall's total with a three-day total of 238 and 241, respectively.

Bucknell walked away from the invitational victorious with a total overall score of 906 (310-298-298). Rutgers boasted the top individual, however, as Kortnie Maxoutopouli took first place with only 214 shots.

Head Coach Meredith Knight Rowsey commented, "We would have liked to finish higher, but despite that we saw good things happening both days. We continued to improve and we're striving to strengthen the solid foundation of play that exists on this team. The newcomers, especially, are adding to the depth of this team."

Marshall goes on from here to participate in the Kentucky Bettie Lou Evans meet in Lexington, Kentucky at the University Club of Kentucky on September 30.
