Marshall Hosts Tulane Wednesday at 7 p.m.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall will be looking for its fourth-straight win over Tulane in order to break a four-game losing streak as it hosts the Green Wave on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The Thundering Herd (13-8, 4-3 C-USA) is coming off a hard fought 83-76 loss at Memphis on Saturday. Shaquille Johnson led Marshall with a season-high 21 points and is currently averaging 10.4 points per game in C-USA play.
Sophomore guard DeAndre Kane leads Marshall and ranks third in C-USA in scoring at 16.1 points per game. Junior forward Dennis Tinnon leads the Herd and ranks third in the conference in rebounds with 10.2 per game.
Marshall continues to be one of the nation's leaders in rebounding as it is tied for third in the NCAA with 41.4 rebounds per game. The Herd also ranks second nationally in offensive rebounds per game (16.6), fifth in rebounding margin (+8.9) and 29th in three-point percentage defense (29.7).
Wednesday's game falls on the first day of February which has historically been a good month for Marshall men's basketball. Over the last five seasons, the Herd is 20-24 in January and 26-13 in February. Marshall holds an impressive 13-3 record in February over the last two seasons.
Tulane (14-7, 2-5 C-USA) is coming off an 88-74 loss at Rice on Saturday and is 2-5 on the road this season. The Green Wave defense leads the conference with 58.0 points allowed per game. They are led by reigning Conference USA Freshman of the Week Ricky Tarrant who leads the team in points (14.0) and assists (3.2). He scored a freshman team record 33 points against SMU last Wednesday.
Marshall leads the all-time series with Tulane 7-5. The Herd has won the last three meetings including last season's 79-75 overtime game in New Orleans.
