HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - After averaging 18.5 points over his past two games, junior guard D.D. Scarver was named the Marshall Student-Athlete of the Week.

Scarver scored 17 points on 5-of-13 shooting including 4-of-8 from three-point range against in-state rival West Virginia on Wednesday. He followed up that performance with a game-high 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting including 4-of-9 from three-point range in Marshall's 69-63 win over Coppin State on Saturday.

For the week, Scarver made 8-of-17 three-point attempts and has hit at least one trey in every game played this season. He also was 5-of-6 from the free throw line and currently ranks sixth in Conference USA at 87.5 percent from the charity stripe.

Scarver is a native of Birmingham Ala. and played the last two seasons at Trinity Valley Community College in Texas before transferring to Marshall.
