This was the 13th meeting all-time between the two schools and Marshall now holds an 8-5 advantage all-time. Marshall has now won the last four meetings and is 4-1 at home against Tulane.
This is the largest margin of victory by either side since Tulane defeated Marshall by 25 the first time these two teams met (February 4, 2006).
44 points allowed marks the fewest points Marshall has ever allowed in a Conference USA game.

Marshall used a 19-2 run over a span of 5:18 late in the first half to extend a 14-12 lead to 33-14 with 2:34 to play.
The Herd led 35-22 at the half and improved to 13-1 when taking a halftime lead.
Marshall recorded 40 or more rebounds for the 16th time this season.
Marshall earned its biggest win since defeating West Virginia Tech by the same margin (99-80) on Dec 21, 2011.
Marshall allowed 44 points or less in a conference game for the first time since Jan. 28, 1950 vs. Tennessee Tech as a member of the Ohio Valley Conference (88-43).
