HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- The Marshall University women's soccer team unveiled its 2012 spring schedule this past week, lining up a host of games that span from March 4 to April 21.

The action will begin for the Thundering Herd when the team travels to Ohio State on March 4 for a 4:30 p.m. showdown with an Ohio State Buckeyes squad that boasted a 12-9-2 record this past fall. After participating in the hour-long match, the Herd will then play its second abbreviated game of the day against Cleveland State University at 5:30 p.m.

Marshall will then take a prolonged break in game-action before returning to the field on March 29 for a doubleheader against the University of Charleston and Alderson-Broaddus at Trace Fork Park in Charleston, W.Va. Times for the matches are still being decided.

The Charleston matches will spell the beginning of an action-packed week for the ladies, as the team will welcome back some of its veterans for an alumni match to be played in Joan C. Edwards Stadium at 2:30 p.m. on March 31, before concluding the four-day period with April 1 contests against St. Francis and James Madison University at 2:00 and 3:30 p.m., respectively.

Both of those matches will take place on the JMU campus in Harrisonburg, Va., and will pit the Herd against two teams that posted a combined 20-14-6 record last fall.

After playing its fifth match in four days, Marshall will take a two week break before resuming play against Capital University and Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, on April 14. The first match will begin at 1:30 p.m. against Capital, while the second match will give the Herd a chance to avenge last fall's 0-1 loss to Ohio with a 4:30 kickoff.

One week later, the team will wrap-up its spring schedule when it returns to Ohio for a 1:00 p.m. showdown with the University of Cincinnati Bearcats in Cincinnati on April 21.
