HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall softball will wrap up the non-conference portion of its schedule when it host Wright State for a single game Wednesday at 3 p.m.

The original doubleheader has been scrapped in favor of one game which will now begin an hour later than the published start time.

The Thundering Herd (29-18, 11-7 C-USA) won its fourth straight game with a doubleheader sweep of Longwood this past Sunday. Jazmine Valle had a walk off home run to win it in game one, while the Herd posted nine runs and held off a late Lancer rally to take the day.

Valle has been the Herd's main power source this season. The junior has nine home runs and 34 RBI to lead the team. She is nearing career highs in both of those categories. Rebecca Gamby has also been a source of power for Marshall. She smacked her sixth home run on Sunday and is up to 25 runs batted in, both second on the team. The senior catcher is leading the team in average at .354.

Marshall's pitching has been what's leading the club. A team earned run average of 2.50 is led by Andi Williamson. She has 211 strikeouts on the season, which is within the top 20 of the country. She struck out her 200th batter of the season on Sunday, becoming the fifth pitcher to have a 200 strike out season.

The Wright State offense is powered by Kristi Boreing, who is one of three Raiders hitting .300 or better. She tops the team with a .340 average with a team high 51 hits and 10 doubles. She also has 20 RBI, second best on the team. Colleen Schneider has a .303 batting average with 17 RBI and nine extra base hits. Chelsea Archer leads WSU with 22 RBI.

Pitching for the Raiders is led by Krystian DeWitt who has a 3.12 earned run average in 222.0 innings. She has struck out 177 batters to lead Wright State.

Marshall holds the all-time series record, 8-3. The last four games have gone it the Herd's favor.

Once the Wright State game finishes up, MU will match-up with East Carolina and UCF for its final Conference USA series of the year before heading off to the C-USA Tournament.
