Women's Golf Unveils Fall 2012 Schedule

2012 Fall Schedule
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -Head coach Meredith Knight Rowsey released her women's golf fall schedule for the 2012 season Thursday and it features its first home match since 2010 with a tri-match September 1.
The three team match will feature the Thundering Herd going up against the teams of Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky. The tri-match will be held at Guyan Country Club, Marshall's home course.
The four additional tournaments will all be different events from last fall's schedule. Coach Knight-Rowsey will lead her ladies to Broken Arrow, Okl. from September 16-18 to participate in the Dale McNamara Invitational, hosted by Conference USA mate Tulsa at the Golf Club of Oklahoma.
Marshall heads to Yorktown, Ind. and The Players Club from Sept. 21-23 to participate in the Cardinal Classic hosted by Ball State. The Herd will play in another fellow C-USA member's tournament October 7-9 when it travels to East Carolina's Lady Pirate Invitational. The tournament will be held at the Greenville Country Club.
Women's golf concludes its fall slate in Germantown, Tenn. with the Memphis Fall Invitational October 21-23. The invite will be hosted by Memphis, another C-USA institution and held at Ridgeway Country Club.
The Herd returns five golfers from the 2011-12 squad. Samantha DiDomenico, a top five finisher at the West Virginia Women's Amateur Championship, is one of three seniors. The other two seniors are sisters Caitlyn and Kristyn Morrone. Kristyn was the 2012 C-USA Newcomer of the Year. Sophomore Korakot Simsiriwong was the top finisher at the 2012 C-USA Championship, tying for seventh with a combined score of 224.
Marshall's spring schedule will be unveiled in the near future.
