Marshall totaled 615 yards of total offense after putting up 545 yards last Saturday at West Virginia. It was the most yards in a game since 604 yards against Kent State on Oct. 11, 2003.
It was the first time the Herd had exceeded 500 yards of total offense in back-to-back games since 2003. That year, Marshall had 548 yards against Western Michigan (10/25) and 573 against Akron (11/1).
Rakeem Cato passed for over 300 yards for the second consecutive game with 377 to follow a 413-yard performance at West Virginia. It was the first time a Herd quarterback passed for over 300 yards in back-to-back games since Stan Hill threw for 439 yards at Akron (11/5/04) and then had 348 yards at Bowling Green (11/12/04).
Steward Butler's 8-yard touchdown run was the first of his career.

Eric Frohnapfel's 29-yard touchdown reception from his brother, Blake Frohnapfel, was his second consecutive game with a score.
Defense
Devin Arrington's 17-yard interception return for a touchdown was the first score of his career. It was the first pick-six for the Herd since Omar Brown scored on a 48-yard return against UAB on Oct. 29, 2011.
The Herd defense held WCU without a first down until the 14:07 mark in the second quarter.
