HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - For the first time this season, Marshall women's soccer dropped its second consecutive match in a 2-0 shutout at Louisiana Tech, Friday evening in Ruston, La.

The Herd fell to 6-4-1, 1-2-0 in the conference. Louisiana Tech improved to 6-6-1, 1-2-0 C-USA.

The first half ended with the score gridlocked at nil apiece. Beginning in the 54th minute, the Lady Techsters struck quickly, scoring twice in one minute. Kailee Hervey scored off an assist by Brittany Bedow, and thirty-six seconds later, Kathryn Sloan found the net off an assist by Jenny Bitzer.

The Lady Techsters held a healthy advantage in shots, 13-5. Caitlin Updyke (4-6-1, 1-2-0 C-USA) had a clean slate, making four saves for Louisiana Tech.

Senior Kristine Culicerto (Charlotte, N.C.) led Marshall with two shots, both on target. Lizzie Kish (Boyertown, Pa.) (6-4-1, 1-2-0 C-USA) made two saves and took two goals against her.

The Herd hasn't found the net in 247 minutes. The last time Marshall lost back-to-back matches was the last two outings of 2012, when the Herd lost to UCF, 5-0, and East Carolina, 1-0, in overtime.

Next, Marshall stays on the road, travelling to Hattiesburg, Miss., to take on Southern Miss (6-4-3, 0-2-1 C-USA), Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
