NFCA All-Region Teams

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -West Virginia's finest, Ashley Gue and Andi Williamson, have earned a spot on the NFCA Mideast All-Region Second Team. This will be Williamson's second time on the second team, as she was also acknowledged in 2012, but for Gue it is a first.

The Thundering Herd has had at least one student-athlete on a NFCA All-Region Team for the past 13 years. Within the 13 years, Marshall's maximum count of student-athletes on any all-region team is three, and the Herd has done it three times (2003, '08, '09). It had two athletes recognized six times (2001, '04, '05, '06, '12, '13) and one athlete four times (2002, '07, '10, '11).

Conference USA teams had a total of 12 athletes on a NFCA All-Region team this season. UAB led the pack with four players acknowledged. Tulsa and Houston both trailed with three, while Marshall had two.

Voting for NFCA All-America will begin next week, and both of Marshall's student-athletes are capable and in the running to earn a place on it.

None of the postseason statistics are considered when voting, so the committee will strictly look at regular season play.
