Hottenstein Named Student-Athlete of the Week

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Junior Amanda Hottenstein won the hammer throw Friday at the Ohio Open in Athens, Ohio with a personal best throw of 50.18 meters and has been named Marshall's Student-Athlete of the Week.

Hottenstein, from Fleetwood, Pa., threw nearly eight meters further than her previous best of 42.27 meters done at the same complex during the Ohio Challenge in April.

She also placed third in the shot put with a throw of 12.77 meters.

Her hammer throw mark is currently the 11th best throw in Conference USA this season.
