LEXINGTON, Ky. – Marshall Track & Field closed its 2025-26 season with three Top-25 finishes in the Men's Triple Jump at the NCAA East First Rounds at the University of Kentucky.Â
With a trio which has pushed each other all season long, freshman Trashaun Smith led the way Friday with a personal best jump of 15.60m. Cam Hamby followed at 15.43m and Otenidi Omot 15.35.Â
Additionally on the Herd's final day of competition, sophomore Ryan Muktar made his debut at the First Rounds in High Jump. The sophomore posted a NH at 2.06mÂ

The 2025-26 season has come to a close for Marshall Track & Field, and Thundering Herd athletics as a whole.Â
"I'm proud of our team and everything we accomplished this season," Director of Track & Field Keith Roberts said. "We have a lot more in the tank but I think we showed what kind of team we can have at Marshall. The kids are rewriting the record books and getting it done in all event areas. Our kids who made it to the first round represented us well. They competed among the best in the nation and as a whole placed higher than where they were ranked coming in. Lara Check had a historic season and it's great to see her go out with so many accomplishments. She is one of the most decorated student-athletes in school history. I'm proud of our men (CamRon Hamby, Ryan Muktar, Otenidi Omot, Gabe Urraca, and Trashaun Smith) and how they are helping build a team from scratch. Our president and athletic director are great leaders and having them support our teams at such a high level means everything. We appreciate all of our alumni and donors and all of the support throughout the year!"
