Marshall Softball Camps Approaching

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall softball will be hosting three different types of camps for a variety of ages during the month of July at Dot Hicks Field.
Directed by the Thundering Herd's all-time winningest coach, Shonda Stanton, along with former assistant coaches Amanda Williams, plus current and former Marshall softball players, campers will receive guided instruction and have the chance to improve their skill set.
All camps are held on-campus at Marshall's home for softball, Dot Hicks Field. Each camper also receives a t-shirt during the camp.
Interested persons can print off the camp brochure from HerdZone.com and send in the registration form plus a $25 non-refundable deposit to the softball offices at P.O. Box 1360, Huntington, WV, 25715. Campers are strongly encouraged to submit their form and deposit by July 8th.

ALL SKILLS CAMP
When: July 15-16
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00p.m.
Description: July 15 instruction will focus on the defensive side of the game including fundamentals and position play. July 16 instruction will focus on offense including the Herd hitting way, baserunning and short game. If there is inclement weather, instruction focus may switch days. Lunch on campus and one hour swim at the Marshall Rec Center are included.
Ages: Open to any and all entrants grades 1-8
Cost: $85 per session / $150 for both
PLAYER SCRIMMAGE CAMP
When: July 17th
Time: 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Description: Compete in games and participate in clinics at "the Dot." During competition, clinic staff will evaluate you and be in your dug-out for instruction. Position play during games guaranteed on a first come, first serve basis.
Ages: Open to any and all entrants in grades 8-12.
Cost: $50 per player
Discounts available to teams with 10 or more players
HITTING CAMP
When: July 23, 30, Aug 6, 13
Time: 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (each day)
Description: Hitters will be instructed on the following areas: Swing fundamentals (essential components for an efficient and explosive swing), drills, drills, & more drills (everyday drills, location drills, tracking drills, balance drills), and becoming a better hitter (common problems and how to make adjustments).
