Herd Concludes Play at Lady Pirate Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Led by a duo of seniors, Marshall women's golf moved up one spot to finish 13th at East Carolina's Lady Pirate Intercollegiate at Greenville Country Club on Tuesday. As a team, the Thundering Herd posted a 54-hole total of 67-over-par 931.
Senior Sarah Helly (Enniscrone, Ireland) carded a team-best 2-over 74 in the final round to move up 13 spots into a tie for 27th at 12-over 228. Classmate Korakot Simsiriwong (Narathiwat, Thailand) was the Herd's best finisher overall in a tie for 23rd with an 11-over 227. Simsiriwong finished with the third-most birdies of the tournament (12) and sunk the team's only eagle of the event on the final day.
ON THE LEADERBOARD
GRU Augusta championed the event with a 12-over 876, followed by Kennesaw State (31-over 895) and the Herd's Conference USA foe Middle Tennessee (33-over 897). Winthrop's Jennifer Dilger took individual honors with a 2-under 214.
