HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- Marshall's men's soccer team will look to build on its successful close to the season as it starts its play in the Conference USA tournament Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. in Norfolk, Va. against the UAB Blazers. UAB is the No. 3 seed in the tournament, while Marshall is No. 6. For information on how to watch or follow the match, please visit the Conference USA Championship Central page.

HAVE YOU HERD?
Marshall has improved to 7-8-3 this season and finished Conference USA play 3-4-1. Marshall closed out its regular season with three straight victories against No. 15 New Mexico (2-1), Asbury (4-0) and Concord (4-1). After Niko Hansen of New Mexico scored in the 62nd minute against the Herd, Marshall went on a 204 minute and 11 second streak with no goals allowed, snapped in the 85th minute against Concord.

SCOUTING THE BLAZERS
UAB is 10-6-1 this season and 5-3-0 in Conference USA. The Blazers finished its season on a 4-2 run, including winning its last game against FAU 3-0. On Oct. 18, the Blazers defeated Marshall 7-2 in Birmingham.
THE GRAY AREA
Head Coach Bob Gray on the UAB game:
"We're anxious to get them on a neural field. We think we can compete with them, although they are definitely a very good side. They are one of the most athletic teams in the conference, but I think we have a very good game plan and we're going to surprise some people."
