HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Pimrawee Huang (Nakornpatom, Thailand) and Sarfina Seretharan (Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Malaysia) will join the Marshall women's golf team for its spring 2015 season, coach Tiffany Prats announced on Monday.

"I'm excited to announce the addition of Sarfina [Seretharan] and 'Ning' [Huang] for the spring semester," Prats said. "Both of these players work tirelessly and want to take their games to the next level. Their experiences have come at the highest level so they understand what it takes to be successful."

Huang, a sophomore transfer, played the 2013-14 season at Iowa State where she posted an 81.17 stroke average. Prior to her time with the Cyclones, she played in four Thai-LPGA tournaments. Her junior career highlights include a third runner-up finish at the World Master Junior Golf in Nevada in 2011 and 2012, placing third at the Ladies A-Class Open at the the Kabin Buri Sport Club and finishing second at the Ladies A-Class Open at the Dragon Hill Golf Club. She also competed in the Sigha-SAT Thai LPGA Championship in 2013.

"I'm really excited to attend Marshall University and be a part of the Herd," Huang said. "After I talked to Coach Prats, I think that Marshall has a really good golf program and good resources are provided. I am very impressed by Coach Prats' profile and I am really looking forward to working with her. She has a lot of experiences that will help me fulfill my golf goals and take my game to a higher level. I think Marshall will be a great fit for me athletically and academically and I look forward to contributing to the team. I can't wait to be part of Marshall next semester."

Prats spoke of her excitement to have Huang join the Herd.

"Ning had a wonderful junior career and we are very excited for her to join the program," Prats said. "As a transfer from Iowa State she has already experienced college golf. Ning is a great kid and will be a big part of our team moving forward."

Seretharan, a member of the Malaysian National Team from 2010-12, will enroll at Marshall as a freshman for the spring 2015 semester. She was the youngest qualifier in tournament history to compete at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia in 2012, and represented Malaysia in the 2012 ASEAN Schools Games. She also championed the Malaysian Junior Amateur Open in 2014.

"Playing golf at a university has been a very big dream of mine, and now it's finally coming true," Seretharan said. "Marshall University has given me a once in a lifetime opportunity to take my golf to the next level and also bring exposure to new experiences. All this wouldn't be possible without the help of Coach Prats. I'm very grateful for the trust that Coach has in me. It's an honor to be playing for her and to be part of this team."

Prats joined in on Seretharan's excitement as she spoke of her recruit's arrival.

"We are very excited to have Sarfina join our program in January," Prats said. "She brings a wealth of experience having played on the Malaysia National Team as well as an event on the LPGA. Her work ethic is tremendous and she wants to take her game to the next level. She will make an immediate impact on our lineup."

With Prats at the helm, Huang and Seretharan will join the Herd for its first spring 2015 outing, the Kiawah Island Classic in Kiawah Island, S.C., on March 5, 2015.

"My first two recruits at Marshall embody everything I envision for our program moving forward," Prats said. "They have great personalities, the desire to win, as well as an outstanding work ethic. On top of everything athletically they will also be great students and ambassadors for Marshall."
