Herd Heads to Lexington, Ky. To Battle Wildcats

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- Marshall tennis (3-1) will head to Lexington, Ky., to take on the 4-1 Kentucky Wildcats Saturday at 10 a.m. ET. The Herd is coming off a one and one weekend, with a defeat against in-state rival West Virginia, and a hard fought battle against No. 52 Virginia Tech handed the Herd their first loss of the season.

Freshman Anna Pomyatinskaya (Sochi, Russia) remains undefeated entering Saturday's singles matches and looks to continue her streak.
Fellow freshman Derya Turhan (Bad Salzuflen, Germany) is coming off a victory against No.16 Atlantic region Kelly Williford of VT. Turhan currently boasts a 2-2 record.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
The No. 40 Wildcats are coming off a 6-1 win to upcoming Marshall opponent No. 50 Penn State. The Herd will face ITA Ohio Valley Region ranked singles opponents in Nos. 3 and 16, Nadia Ravita and Aldila Sutjiadi, respectively.
On the doubles circuit, No. 7 Caitlin Mcgraw/ Nadia Ravita and No. 8 Kelsey Dieters/ CeCe Witten stand as tough competition for the Herd. After taking on the Herd, Kentucky will face Morehead state later that evening.
UP NEXT
The Herd travels to State College, Pa. to take on No. 50 Penn State on Feb. 14, and will face Penn Feb. 15th.
