HAVE YOU HERD?

Three Marshall players found the net as the Thundering Herd topped Conference USA leader Middle Tennessee, 3-2, on Sunday at Dean A. Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium. It was the Blue Raiders' first home loss and first C-USA loss this season. Jordan Parkhurst (Scottsdale, Ariz.) scored Marshall's fastest goal of the season at 1:58. Tennessee native Ashley Seltzer (Knoxville) followed in the 32nd minute, and Erin Simmons (Gahanna, Ohio) was credited with the game-winner at 48:51.

SHOTS, SHOTS, SHOTS

Senior Kelly Culicerto (Charlotte, N.C.) took six shots on Sunday at Middle Tennessee, giving her 210 for her career and breaking the all-time school record of 208 set by Angela DeSumma (2008-11).

HOME SWEET HOME

Entering this weekend, the Herd is 4-0-1 at Veterans Memorial Soccer Complex, and has allowed only three goals at home this season. Marshall's last goal allowed on Hoops Family Field was during a 5-1 rout of Eastern Kentucky on Sept. 7.

PREGAME BARBEQUE & SOCIAL MEDIA NIGHT

The first 200 fans to show their ticket to Friday's match against Florida Atlantic will receive access to a pregame barbeque catered by Buddy's. The tailgate will be located in the Kroger parking lot across the street from the complex, starting at 5:45 p.m. Additionally, the match will feature trivia and other contests conducted via @HerdWSoccer on Twitter.

#CHRISTIANSTRONG

Marshall's match on Sunday will be dedicated to Hurricane native Christian Walroth, a 24-year-old friend of the program who was born with a number of ailments including spina bifida, hydrocephalus, Arnold-Chiari malformation and severe scoliosis that left him paralyzed from the waist down. The Walroth family will be selling shirts at the match and there will be opportunities for fans to donate to the group's GoFundMe page. Fans who donate before the end of halftime will receive a #BeHerd Marshall Soccer shirt.

SCOUTING THE OWLS

Florida Atlantic (9-7-0, 3-3-0) sits in sixth place in C-USA, two points behind the fifth-ranked Herd. The Owls are coming off of a 2-0 weekend with shutouts against Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss with the help of the C-USA Defender of the Week Erica Burt on the back line. Junior goalkeeper Sydney Drinkwater recorded her 13th and 14th career shutouts to move into second all-time in program history while Geovana Alves scored her team-leading seventh goal of the year.

The only prior meeting between the clubs was Oct. 18, 2013, a 2-1 victory for the Owls at Veterans Memorial Soccer Complex.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN PANTHERS

Last weekend, FIU (8-7-0, 4-2-0) recorded shutouts against Southern Miss (1-0) and Louisiana Tech (2-0), to total five blank sheets on the year. Goalkeeper Nevena Stojakovic holds a 1.17 goals-against average and .640 save percentage. The Golden Panthers are led by Madlen Weinhardt's 12 points on four goals and four assists. FIU will face WKU on Friday before heading to Huntington on Sunday.

Marshall is unbeaten against FIU at 1-0-1 all-time, with both meetings in Miami. Last season, the teams played to a 1-1 draw, and in 2013, the Herd earned a 1-0 shutout against the Golden Panthers. Sunday will mark FIU's first trip to Huntington.

Marshall's final C-USA road trip will be to Bowling Green, Ky., to visit Western Kentucky on Friday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. ET. For all the latest information about Marshall women's soccer, follow @HerdWSoccer on Twitter.
