IRVING, Texas - Marshall women's soccer senior Jenna Dubs (Green Lane, Pa.) earned her second consecutive Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week title, the league announced Monday.

The award is the third weekly honor for Dubs (Sept. 14, Sept. 28). She is the only player this season to earn the C-USA honor more than once. This week, she shared the title with Megan Morris of WKU.

"We're thrilled once again to Dubs honored with the weekly honor," Herd coach Kevin Long said. "The defense was challenged intensely over the weekend. She and her teammates did a great job. At this stage of the season, we rely heavily on her play and leadership and it is fantastic that she is being recognized for her hard work."

Marshall (9-1-3, 2-0-2) extended its NCAA-leading unbeaten streak to 12 matches with a 1-1 draw at UTEP on Sunday at University Field. The Herd's streak (9-0-3) is tied with No. 1 North Carolina (11-0-1) for the longest active stretch in Division I women's soccer.

Dubs, the Herd's primary corner kick specialist, extended her streak of consecutive starts to 71 - every match of her career. She played all 204 minutes this weekend at UTSA and UTEP. Both were overtime matches. The Herd held its opponents to 10.5 shots per game, while taking 20.5 shots per game. Marshall's defense has allowed two goals in the last 742 minutes, dating back to Sept. 11.

The awards mark the sixth consecutive week with at least one C-USA accolade for Marshall. Other weekly honor recipients this season include goalkeeper Lizzie Kish (Boyertown, Pa.) on Sept. 28, forward Sydney Arnold (Stafford, Va.) on Aug. 31 and Sept. 21, and M/F Erin Simmons (Gahanna, Ohio) on Sept. 8. The seven awards are the most in a Herd season.

Marshall was ranked No. 40 in the NCAA RPI on Monday, highest in Conference USA.
