Pulfer Wins C-USA Swimmer of the Week

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall swimmer Madi Pulfer (Ottawa, Ontario) has been named the Conference USA Swimmer of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

The sophomore led the Herd with two wins at Ohio last Friday, including a lifetime best and top ten time in the 1,000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:16.21. Pulfer also won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:02.81.

This is Pulfer's first C-USA Swimmer of the Week award and Marshall's first of the season. The Herd's Megan Wolons (Williamsburg, Va.) has won Diver of the Week on three occasions in 2015.

"Very happy for Madi," Marshall coach Bill Tramel said. "Her two wins this past weekend were both come from behind victories. Very smart racing."

Pulfer and the Thundering Herd are back in action this Thursday-Saturday in the Nike Cup at Chapel Hill, N.C.
