IRVING, Texas - Marshall women's soccer senior midfielder Kelly Culicerto (Charlotte, N.C.) has been named the final Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week of the 2015 season, the league announced Monday.

She is the fifth Herd player to earn a C-USA weekly honor this year, third on the offensive side (Sydney Arnold, Erin Simmons). The title is the first of her career.

"Kelly has been very strong part of our lineup for all four years of her career," Herd coach Kevin Long said. "While she is physical and has great field awareness and touch, her competitiveness really separates her from all others. I am thrilled that the conference is able to recognize the massive contributions she makes to our team."

Marshall (13-3-3, 6-2-2) broke program records in season wins and league wins with a 1-0, double overtime, Senior Night victory against Old Dominion on Friday. Culicerto's golden penalty kick in the 103rd minute was her team-leading fourth game-winner this season. Her conversion helped the Herd reach its third consecutive shutout and secure a No. 2 seed in this week's Conference USA Tournament, its highest seeding in program history. Marshall will face No. 7 Louisiana Tech in the quarterfinals Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. ET in Miami.

Other C-USA weekly honor recipients this season include:

  • Defensive Player of the Week Jenna Dubs (Green Lane, Pa.): Oct. 26, Oct. 5, Sept. 28, Sept. 14
  • Goalkeeper of the Week Lizzie Kish (Boyertown, Pa.): Sept. 28
  • Offensive Player of the Week Sydney Arnold (Stafford, Va.): Aug. 31, Sept. 21
  • Offensive Player of the Week Erin Simmons (Gahanna, Ohio): Sept. 8

The nine awards are the most in a Herd season.

Marshall was ranked No. 61 in the NCAA RPI on Monday, second in Conference USA behind regular-season champion North Texas (No 48).
