Marshall head coach Kevin Long

On Marshall's mindset heading into a match
"This is the first time we have been in the tournament with this high of a seed, so that's a spot we're not typically used to. The first thing was to realize that everyone is going to come at us. This tournament is win or go home. I think that was probably the first obstacle we had to overcome. I think we saw that in the tempo of play. In non-conference matchups it's competitive, then you get into conference schedule and the level increases. At the tournament, teams are just coming at you. Everybody's good -- we saw that tonight in Louisiana Tech. They challenged us throughout. They were very physical and I thought that was something our team has to get used to."

On the game's physical play
"I think they are one of the teams that play a more physical style. I don't know enough about Louisiana Tech's history. We have the least amount of cards, the least amount of fouls, so it is definitely something that is different for us and we have to adjust. With that, it's just a matter of playing quicker."

On scoring first in the match
"I would have like to continued the momentum and get in a scenario where we have our foot on the petal. We were driving at the pace of the game and we kind of lost that quick momentum. That goal they scored was just a little mistake that we made. We should have been able to get one more goal in that half to control the tempo of the game better."

On Marshall's offensive performance
"There were spurts of danger. I think there were times where the momentum shifted. We just have to give credit to them, they came right at us. We had a hard time finding teammates open to gain opportunities. Going forward, we want those gaps to be smaller and put up quality shots. I think our shots came at a lot of angles and were distant. I want to take shots closer to the goal with higher percentages."

On Marshall's defensive performance
"I thought it was good. I think it was hard the last twenty minutes. I think that overall, if any part was there, we have to do a better job of communicating with our teammates. A lot of times we defend shots, but sometimes we don't find other teammates on the clear outs."
