HAVE YOU HERD?
Marshall won last week's meet in Davidson, N.C., against Davidson and Old Dominion. The Herd had an impressive performance from its divers, with junior Megan Wolons (Williamsburg, Va.) winning the 3-meter and 1-meter dives. Wolons and fellow junior diver Heather Lonkert (Moon Township, Pa.) qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships in March.
Highlights in the pool included freshman Caroline Wanner (Stafford, Va.), who won the 400 IM with a time of 4:30.98. Junior Chloe Parsemain (Fos sur Mer, France) also won the 100 yard butterfly, posting a time of 57.74. Additionally, Madi Pulfer (200 freestyle), Wanner (200 IM) and Lauren Cowher (50 freestyle) also won events.
WOLONS EARNS SECOND STRAIGHT C-USA DIVER OF THE WEEK
Marshall University junior Megan Wolons was named Conference USA Diver of the Week for the second straight week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Wolons broke the decade-old, 3-meter school record in her victory against Old Dominion and host Davidson last weekend. She also qualified for the NCAA Zone Championships with her winning 3-meter score of 304.85.
TRAMEL TALK
Marshall coach Bill Tramel on the meet:
"Really looking forward to racing at Cleveland State. They have a fantastic facility and it's fast. This will be a welcome challenge for us, with two 16 event meets within 24 hours, much like a championship setting. We need to be resilient, especially the second day, to prepare for conference."
