HAVE YOU HERD?
Marshall has two consecutive wins and back-to-back three-goal games, including a 3-2 overtime win against UAB last Saturday on Senior Night.
Senior defender Matt Freeman (Irmo, S.C.), scored the Herd's winning goal in the 93rd minute. Juniors Daniel Jodah (Mississauga, Ontario) and Rimario Gordon (Kingston, Jamaica) also scored for Marshall. Jodah also had two assists against the Blazers, making him the second player to record two assists in a match this year (Jack Hopkins had two against Liberty on Sept. 8).
Marshall also won last Tuesday, defeating Shawnee State 3-0 at Hoops Family Field. The Herd is now 6-0-1 when scoring first and 3-1-1 in overtime matches.
SCENARIOS FOR C-USA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Marshall sits in eighth place in Conference USA with four points (a win is three points, a draw is one point and a loss earns no points). The top seven seeds make the C-USA Tournament, with the No. 1 seed getting a bye to the semifinals and seeds No. 2-7 playing for the final three spots. No. 6 UAB (six points) and No. 7 New Mexico (five points), currently occupy the final two transfer spots.
The Herd needs a win and/or any one of these scenarios to advance.
- A UAB draw or loss (a draw gives Marshall the tie-breaker from head-to-head play.
- A New Mexico draw against Florida Atlantic, which would give UNM 6 points and FAU 4.
- A New Mexico win and UAB loss or draw.
- A Florida Atlantic win and UAB loss or draw.
The scenarios are available in a graphic here.

Old Dominion is 8-3-3 and 3-2-2 in Conference USA. The Monarchs are ranked No. 20 in this week's NSCAA Poll, down from No. 13 last week after a 3-1 loss to South Carolina. The Monarchs are 1-2-2 in their last five matches.
