HAVE YOU HERD?
Senior center JP Kambola (Toronto, Ontario) went 4-of-4 from the field and 3-of-3 from the free throw line for a team-high 12 points, but Marshall fell hard at Middle Tennessee, 90-51, on a frosty Thursday evening at Murphy Center. Despite the season-worst 39-point margin, the loss was just the second in the Herd's last seven games. Additionally, the Blue Raiders halted a three-game Marshall win streak.
A WIN WOULDââ'¬Â¦
- Be the Herd's sixth in the last eight games
- Give Marshall its most wins in C-USA play (six) since 2012-13, when it went 6-10
- Be the Herd's first against UAB since Jan. 11, 2012 (61-59, in Birmingham), snapping a four-game win streak for the Blazers
LOOP FROM LONG RANGE
Redshirt sophomore Austin Loop (South Webster, Ohio) is a staple for the Herd's offense as the team's leader from 3-Point Land. He tops Conference USA with 2.7 treys made per game, ranking No. 38 among Division I men's basketball players. Against Western Kentucky (Feb. 14) he reached a career high for makes when he went 6-of-10. He also ranks nationally in total 3-point attempts (185, No. 35) and total 3-pointers made (71, No. 36).
